The largest recess cave in Ohio, measuring 700 feet wide, 100 feet deep, and 90 feet high. Its vast, horseshoe-shaped overhang is awe-inspiring.

0.25-mile ADA-accessible trail leading through a lush gorge. We took this to the Cave.
0.5 mile Rim Trail offers elevated views of the gorge and surrounding forest. We took the stairs and took this back to the parking lot.

The cave’s name originates from large ash piles found by early settlers, believed to be remnants of Native American campfires.
